Lessons Learned
- Composting - fail
- attemptened to encourage composting
- result : plastic cutlery & cups mixed into compost bins
- take away
- distribute biodegradable/compostable cutlery, plates, cups
- MC reminders throughout the event
- bigger, more obvious signs on the bins
- Presale tickets
- EventBrite is not ideal
- lacks multiple moderators
- cannot "purchase" multiple donation based tickets at a time
- better to have ticket sales available at time of event announcement
- Facilities respect
- some office booze consumed despite "not your beer" stickers
- deliberately hitting pingpong balls out the window
- take away
- post signs requesting maturity & consideration
- Lost & found
- multiple messages to encourage labeling of equipment
- lots of kitchenware left behind
- take away
- bring masking tape & encourage labeling on site
- Beer
- incredibly popular, ran out relatively early
- although probably good for those driving home by 5
- take away
- more sponsors, ask earlier

Logistics
- Scheduling and Presentations - each presenter briefly describes his dish before bringing it out. They can sign up for timeslots when they arrive.
- How to prevent chaos? - Do this on video too for posterity sake?
- What if we say arrive at 1pm and then at 2pm we do a "tour-of-bacon" where the people who brought dishes get 2 minutes (a la Ignite) to describe their dish, inspiration, etc? That way its not just mayhem ... this could be done around the judging table?
- How-to (or just general) bacon sessions in true BarCamp form?:
- Scott Kveton, Making your own bacon
- Encourage other types of preso
- bacon craft time! Toothpicks & frosting to hold pieces together, weave strips into shapes
