Hi, I’m Bill Allen, the guy in the picture (yes, it’s really me – and I am even writing this in the pic, lol).
I seriously LOVE bacon, like a real lot! Always have and always will.
I also love to cook and when time permits, create awesome dishes completely from scratch.
Yes, even bacon.
So why is it so special to me?
Well, I have never found one simple meat that adds so much flavor to just about anything you cook with it.
I use it on my turkey for Thanksgiving to keep the bird nice and moist while at the same time adding a little salty flavor.
Or take some tasteless chicken and wrap it in bacon to make the best bacon wrapped chicken you’ve ever had.
Or in things like soups, I especially love broccoli cheese soup with some bacon in it. It just really makes it a yummy dish to an awesome eat all you can dish.
Boring “healthy” salad, add some bacon bits and jazz it up.
And don’t get me started on breakfast!
How anyone can eat breakfast without bacon is beyond me.
Fry your eggs in the left over bacon grease for a FAR more tasty egg.
And do the same with your home-fries. There is nothing better than home-fries cooked in left over bacon grease.
Use the grease to cook your pancakes or French toast, yum.
Anyway, you get my point.
I LOVE BACON!
So much so that I decided to create this site to share all things bacon with the world.
My hope is to inspire you to start experimenting with using bacon or bacon grease whenever you can.
A lot has been said lately about the negative health effects of bacon, and I tend to agree that if you live on bacon alone then you may have some medical problems.
But once a day I still think it’s safe and delicious.
But this site is most definitely NOT about healthy lifestyles or diets.
It’s about the love of bacon and it’s many amazing uses in the kitchen, and even out of the kitchen.
So read the site, make some recipes, and do some experimenting yourself.
And if you do, let me know what you did and how it turned out!
